More than 10,000 hours across self-directed rehabilitation, mobility, preparation and movement practice over many years. Within that work, a conservative 1,000+ hours have been shoulder-focused and 500+ hours knee-focused. It informs how I coach movement and longevity; it is practical experience, not a claim of clinical diagnosis.

Zaak Nicholls — Strength coach, Melbourne's southeast
My philosophy is simple: build a powerful, resilient body for life. I combine 18 years of training experience with a deep practical focus on strength, mobility, preparation and resilient movement to create programs with clear intent — not just workouts.

The point is not to live in the gym. It is to build enough strength, mobility and capacity for work, walks, weekends, dogs and the years ahead. Baseline uses training as a tool for the life you actually want to keep doing.
Six operating principles. One aim: become harder to break and easier to keep moving.
Training shaped by years of rehabilitation experience, designed to restore strength without treating pain as background noise.
Access → Control → Load → Own. New range is only useful when you can actively control it, progressively load it and keep it.
Progress is judged by what you can sustain, recover from and keep doing well over time.
Programming is tailored around your body, history, constraints and goals rather than forcing you into a generic template.
Coaching begins with context: what hurts, what matters, what you can recover from, and what a realistic path forward looks like.
The goal is not to chase random workouts. It is to create a body with enough strength, control and resilience to support the rest of your life.
Remote-first coaching tiers built around your current baseline, recovery capacity and goals.
Remote coaching available Australia-wide. Limited in-person sessions are available by arrangement across Melbourne's southeast / Mornington Peninsula.
New clients complete pre-exercise screening before coaching begins. Baseline Strength provides exercise programming and general fitness coaching; it is not physiotherapy, medical diagnosis or medical treatment.
